Privacy notice

This is a simple website. There are no accounts to create, and joining our email list is optional. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site, with Google’s advertising features turned off. We have not added advertising or social-media tracking tools. Our host, Wix, sets its own cookies and runs a script of its own on every page that keeps an anonymous visitor token in your browser and sends Wix data about each page load, as explained below.

Like every website, these pages reach you through other companies’ servers. When your browser asks for a page, a photo or a font, the server that provides it receives your IP address and basic technical details, such as your browser type, because it needs them to send the content back to you. For this site, those companies are:

• Wix Hosts the website and serves its pages, typefaces, photos and video (from our own address, static.wixstatic.com and video.wixstatic.com). When a page loads, Wix’s servers set two session cookies on this site’s address (client-session-bind and server-session-bind). Wix also adds a script of its own to every page, loaded from manage.wix.com. The script sets a short-lived cookie named bSession (about 30 minutes), requests an anonymous visitor token from wixapis.com and saves it in your browser’s local storage under a name beginning “wixSiteScript:”, and sends Wix data about the page load (to frog.wix.com). It also loads Wix’s own site-statistics and cookie-consent components (from static.parastorage.com), along with any site features switched on in our Wix account. • Google Analytics Measures visits to this site: which pages are viewed, how visitors arrived, the general area they visit from, the kind of device and browser, and whether a visit led to a booking on our booking site. It sets cookies on this site’s address (_ga and one beginning _ga_) that last up to two years. Google’s advertising features, including Google signals and ad personalization, are turned off, and Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses. Analytics does not load at all if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, and you can also opt out with Google’s opt-out add-on (opens in a new tab). Each provider handles this information under its own privacy policy. The same is true of any other website a link here takes you to.

Where a page shows our location, the map stays switched off until you choose “Show the map”. Only then does your browser load Google Maps, which may set its own cookies under Google’s privacy policy. Links for directions simply open Google Maps in a new tab.

Reservations are made on our secure booking site, run by Cloudbeds, which opens in a new tab. When you check availability here, the dates and number of guests you choose are passed to Cloudbeds in the link, along with an anonymous Google Analytics identifier so we can see which visits lead to bookings. Cloudbeds’ booking site runs analytics and advertising tools of its own.

Cloudbeds collects the details needed to complete your reservation, including payment, and handles them under its own privacy terms. We receive your reservation details so that we can prepare for your stay. Cloudbeds privacy policy (opens in a new tab)

Our inquiry and waitlist forms do not send anything over the internet themselves. When you press the button, your own email app opens with your message ready to review and send, and it reaches us like any other email.
